María Guerrero, Partnership Product Manager, has been with us for over 5 years now!

As part of our Gameloft for brands division, María is in charge of creating entertaining gaming experiences and has had the opportunity to work on some exciting projects!

Learn about some of her favorite moments working at Gameloft and what she loves most about her job below!

Hi, María! Tell us about yourself.

My adventure at Gameloft started 5 years ago as a PR & marketing manager in Mexico City.

All the people I have worked with have become my second family, and I will never forget the amazing community we built. I will always remember the Smash battles during lunch and all our different activities, like escape rooms, go-karting, paintball, and piñatas for each birthday!

I decided to move to Paris 2 years ago to join the Global Marketing team as a partnership project manager, and I will always be grateful to Gameloft for taking care of the transfer of my little family: my two dogs.

What is your role, and what do you enjoy most about your job?

Today, as partnership project manager for Gameloft for brands, my mission is to develop and manage innovative and engaging gaming experiences for brands like special ops and esports partnerships.

I’m in contact with a lot of different teams all around the world every day: internal Gameloft teams, clients, partners, licensors, third-party providers, event organizers, marketing agencies, etc.

I’ve also have the chance to travel around to a lot of amazing gaming events, which is my favorite part of the job!

What are some of your most memorable moments at Gameloft?

My most memorable moments are the launch of the first Asphalt 9: Legends esports tournament in Mexico a few days after its release and our participation at Gamescom in Germany for the big Asphalt Series tournament finals.

I will also always remember the amazing trip to New York for the ESL Mobile Open finals where I saw one of the most impressive esports stadiums filled with thousands of people.

What advice do you have for people, but especially women, who want to work in gaming in a similar role?

Even though the daily routine of a project manager is sometimes complex, all the projects are always fun!

We create human connections with a lot of people, we test, we deliver, we improve, and we have fun. For me, it’s the most important part of my job.

As a woman, I think it’s important to support the presence of women in the gaming industry at large and that the representation and current role of women in video games continue to transform into a role where women are protagonists, fighters and empowered, just like we are in real life!

We strongly believe in better representation and diversity in the industry, and we want your help! Check out all our open positions in our studios around the world here, and stay tuned for another edition of Humans Behind the Game!
