Today we are talking to Shaun St-Laurent, our influencer marketing manager at Gameloft Montréal.

Our ex-professional Call of Duty player and esports fan knows a thing or two about creators, and he shared his knowledge with Restream on an episode of Friday Lives.

Check out the interview, and learn more about Shaun and influencers below!

Hi, Shaun! Tell us about yourself.

I’ve been at Gameloft for the past 4 years. I started off as a game community manager and now take care of our paid and organic influencer initiatives.

I am a huge fan of FPS games and follow pretty much every esport scene there is. I actually played Call of Duty 1 and 2 professionally.

This might be a cliché because I live in Montréal, but my favourite thing to eat is… poutine.

What do you enjoy most about being an influencer marketing manager?

My favourite thing about working with creators is seeing them grow with time. I love working with creators who are truly passionate about what they’re doing.

Consistency is the number one rule to make it as a content creator and seeing their journey from being organic creators to then getting paid deals is very inspiring to me.

What are some of your most memorable moments at Gameloft?

Traveling is a big perk of the job and I think the best memories I’ve had are from meeting the people we work with on a daily basis.

Whether is be through team building events in Paris or through an influencer campaign in Japan, getting to know the people you work with on a more personal level and experiencing other parts of the world with them definitely creates great memories.

What advice would you offer to aspiring gaming influencers?

Like I said above, consistency is the key to success for content creators. If you’re creating content in the hopes of making it big, you’re probably not doing the right thing.

Creating content about something you truly love will have your audience be a lot more engaged and in tune with what you’re broadcasting. That will lead to a more enjoyable experience for both yourself and the audience watching your content!

We have multiple positions available in marketing in our studios around the world, and you can find all of them here. Stay tuned next week for another edition of Humans Behind the Game!
