Diana Toth is the lead product marketing manager at Gameloft Budapest for Dragon Mania Legends!

This is her first job in gaming, but as a savvy marketer, longtime gamer, and problem solving lover, she had no problem making the jump between industries.

Find out more about her and what she does as a lead product marketing manager below!

Hi, Diana! Tell us about yourself.

Gaming has been a part of my life since the early days of my childhood.

I remember playing on an old Sega console as a 5-year-old with my father. Later on, I was bouncing through Super Mario, went on adventures in Tomb Raider and Prince of Persia, fought against evil in Mortal Combat, and built a home for my “family” in The Sims.

I still enjoy a good night out in magical realms, but during the day, I like to go on real-life adventures with my fluffy companions, Sansa and Lego.

I have been a marketer the past 10 years. Before joining Gameloft, I worked at a media publisher and at fast moving consumer goods companies, like Coca-Cola.

Thinking about the gaming industry, I came (and stayed) for the challenge. I’ve always loved solving quests, and that’s pretty much what I do in my current job. The only difference is that the “playground” has changed.

What is your role, and what do you enjoy most about your job?

I joined Gameloft Budapest 11 months ago as a lead product marketing manager for Dragon Mania Legends, a great title where you can breed, collect, and fight with hundreds of cool dragons.

As a product marketing manager, I need to keep a close eye on the current marketing trends, keep my finger on the pulse of our store listings’ performances, and come up with data-backed campaign ideas that we can test and analyze.

The environment we work in is ever-changing, including the guidelines of different app stores and markets where the game is present.

It’s a complex position with lots of challenges, but if someone is driven by opportunities for growth, it’s a rewarding one as well. Not to mention the passionate professionals you get to work with every day!

What are some of your most memorable moments at Gameloft?

I could mention our recent Wake Your Inner Dragon charity campaign, which was the result of a true team effort, but any day spent brainstorming with my colleagues on campaign ideas, assets, or technical solutions is exciting.

What advice do you have for people, and especially women, who want to work in gaming in a similar role?

Be ready to learn continuously, dare to use your imagination, and rely on the power of data!

And most importantly: don’t be afraid to be yourself.

If you’re interested in joining Diana’s team, Gameloft Budapest is currently looking for a product marketing manager, but there are many other positions available in the studio here. We're sure you'll find something that'll suit you! Stay tuned for another edition of Humans Behind the Game.
