Ana Manrique is the global digital project manager for Gameloft Business Solutions, our business entity that creates custom gaming packages for carriers and manufacturers.

She joined us in 2019 at our office in Madrid and uses her multiple years of experience in digital marketing and project management to provide the best subscription experience to our users.

Find out more about Ana, her job, and what helped her to make the jump into the gaming industry below!

Hi, Ana! Tell us about yourself.

I'm Peruvian by birth, and I've been living in Spain for 5 years and working for 2 in the Gameloft Madrid office.

I have more than 8 years of experience in the world of digital marketing with a specialization in digital project management services since 2017.

Planning is my middle name and outside of work, I love to plan trips, events, my finances, everything! Even my Star Wars marathons, which I’m a huge fan of. I could watch the Star Wars series, cartoons and movies a million times and I will always cry, laugh, sing and get emotional at the same parts for each one.

What is your role, and what do you enjoy most about your job?

In my current position, I perform several tasks to support and optimize the management of Gameloft Business Solutions.

As part of the global team, I support local teams worldwide to optimize the materials to promote to end users and for them to have a better subscription experience. I also work on benchmarking and market research, and it is precisely this experience that helps me to have a better view on what the user needs.

Since I’m charge of optimizing our internal and external customer care, I also help out with all the post-sales management in order to have a more detailed follow-up and to analyze the communication data at both a business and user level.

Last but not least, I’m the Agile methodologies expert of the group, and I’ve worked with Jira Atlassian since 2017. I love organizing, which is why I get along so well with these methodologies!

I love everything I do, but I really enjoy working in a team to optimize the management of our line of business. We’re always innovating, which is a challenge that helps me to go out of my comfort zone.

What are some of your most memorable moments at Gameloft?

I would have to highlight winning the Christmas contest last year with my Star Wars photo in the snow!

Another memorable moment was the summer dinner this year. I was able to see my friends again after almost one year, and it was very emotional. It’s in these moments that you realize the importance of having your team physically by your side and makes you value having such a good job with great professionals even more.

What advice do you have for people, but especially women, who want to work in gaming in a similar role?

My advice to women is to jump in and take risks without fear!

As an immigrant and a woman, I’ve had to fight against prejudices, and I was able to do this because I’ve always believed in myself and that I belong. There is no greater strength than that.

Diversity is a strength, and the gaming industry needs more of it. Like Ana said, believe in yourself because you belong here. We have many positions open in our studios around the world, so don’t wait any longer. Apply today! See you next week for another edition of Humans Behind the Game.
